Is ChurchKeeper Networkable?

ChurchKeeper is fully networkable, and is a true networked program, which means that code is included to prevent two people from changing the same record at exactly the same time (as some network programs do).

When I launch ChurchKeeper from a workstation, I get a message, 'can't update cursor'. What causes this, and how can I correct it?

This message is a result of a users account not being given the correct permissions to access ChurchKeeper. Because ChurchKeeper writes data to the hard drive, it is important to give users read/write access to the data. On a network, we recommend you contact your system administrator and have him read these questions and do the following:

1) On the server make sure you have shared the folder that contains ChurchKeeper with read/write access to all users.

2) Make sure you have given each user full access to ChurchKeeper.

How do I apply the latest build of ChurchKeeper on a network?

1) Make sure you are on the server, and when prompted with the WinZip self extracting program, change the folder name to the folder that holds ChurchKeeper.

2) After you have installed the update to the server. You should launch ChurchKeeper, and receive a prompt to rebuild the indices. Click on 'Rebuild' when you receive this prompt.
