How to QuestionsHow do I delete member/visitors in ChurchKeeper? 1) From the Main Menu, pull down Daily Options, and then go select the Congregation Workbench. 2) Locate the person to delete, and click on the Del (picture of trashcan) 3) The record will be deleted. When I try to delete, it tells me the person has contributions. How do I delete these people? It is recommended to keep member/visitor records once you have entered contributions. This is for 2 reasons. First because you should keep transactions for 6 years just in case of an audit, and secondly because you may need to regenerate a statement in the future on demand . If however you wish to stop printing them a statement, and stop showing them on reports, (for example deceased people) you can do step 1 above, and locate the correct person and then: 1) Go to the 'More' tab for the individual, and click on 'Change'. 2) Click on 'no' to the option on the bottom that says, "Show on reports/labels", and 'don't' to the option for 'Statement' What if I have a duplicate person on file, and really need to delete one of their two records, or I just want to delete someone with contributions? 1) You must first go into the Contribution Workbench, and click on 'Edit Posted Contributions', and then click on 'Select Individual' at the bottom, and change your date range to include all their contributions, then either re-assign their contributions or delete them. ** Remember if you delete them, it could affect financials **. 2) Once you have re-assigned or deleted their contributions, you can go back to the Congregation WorkBench, and delete their records.
